Nic and Dan spend hours each week talking about what they are experiencing. The problems their clients face, the trends they see, and potential solutions from various angles. Typically, they do this sitting in the office together.
Dan recently had an idea:
“What if we turned on the camera and mic and let people watch us work through our thoughts? Let others be a fly on the wall and look over the shoulder."
Being a fly on the wall is powerful. As an observer, your guard is down so things hit you differently. Since you don't have to respond, you aren't thinking of what to say next. You can allow things to really sink in.
After some discussion, they decided to give it a go. Today, they fired up the camera and let a few dozen people watch them work through:
Exploitability and what it means
Why Nic and Dan do not agree as often as people think and why it’s a very good thing
Values, perspectives, and baselines
How to be less exploitable
When to be exploited (it’s not always a bad thing)
…and more
